MOFT at LA Tech Week: A Celebration of Creativity, Tech Innovation, and Community

On October 18, MOFT kicked off #LATechWeek-end with an immersive day of creativity and innovation at The Kinn in Venice, California, unveiling the first-ever MOFT Work Create Anywhere Café. In the heart of LA’s vibrant tech and creative scene, guests soaked up the sun, surf, and stimulating conversations in a space reimagined as a MOFT Café catering to the modern mobile lifestyle experience.

The MOFT Cafe welcomed 300 guests in various tech fields including startups and tech entrepreneurs, artists, content creators, KOLs,and other creative professionals.

During the daytime activation, attendees were welcomed into the relaxed cafe ambiance of the MOFT Work Create Anywhere Café, where they enjoyed espresso, networking and explored MOFT’s latest offerings for the iPhone 16 at the MOFT "Origami Bar." The latest MOFT MagSafe accessories lineup includes the Snap Case MOVAS, Snap Flow, Tripod Wallet Stand, and the signature Snap-on Phone Stand & Wallet, alongside other origami-inspired designs for laptops and iPads—all crafted to seamlessly enhance productivity and creativity.

Later in the afternoon, MOFT hosted its first “Meet the Creatives Coffee Talk,” featuring a fireside chat with MOFT brand ambassadors Christopher Chan and Tommy Bogo, moderated by Forbes’ Cassell Ferere. The panel was hosted by MOFT founder and CEO Julianna He, who discussed how MOFT tools empower content creators to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. The event also premiered "Living My Flow," a series of short films spotlighting MOFT’s “Invisible Talents” brand ambassadors, who are trailblazers in their fields. Guests left inspired and received the Create Anywhere Weekender Gift Bags, filled with lightweight EDC productivity essentials for their next adventure.

As evening fell, MOFT hosted an exclusive panel discussion with MOFT’s content creators in mind, exploring the intersection of AI and creativity. Brett Dashevsky, Founder of Creator Economy NYC, kicked off the event with a warm welcome, introducing an esteemed panel of experts:

  • Shantell Martin, visual artist and MOFT collaborator, discussed her co-designed Snap Flow product, which blends analog and digital tools to help creators capture their ideas. She also explains the meaning of the exclusive artwork she designed called "All the Time" and reflects the idea that motion and play help strengthen one's power of understanding. It is important to move, stay active, and believe in personal creativity.”

  • Vicky Yang, CMO of US Market at MOFT, emphasized MOFT's mission to support creators with minimalist, origami-inspired tech accessories. Additionally, in response to the panel topic, MOFT believes the human experience is the core of creativity, which cannot be replaced by AI - it echoes to Shantell's statement of collaboration art “All The Time”

  • Amanda Perelli, journalist at Business Insider, shared insights on the evolving creator economy and AI's impact on content creation.

  • Tyler Chou, Founder & CEO of Law for Creators, provided valuable insights into protecting creators’ intellectual property in the age of AI.

The dynamic discussion centered on AI's role in shaping the future of creativity, touching on everything from practical applications to philosophical debates about human intuition and artistic expression.

The discussion also spotlighted MOFT’s design collaboration with Shantell Martin, who has been a long time user of MOFT leading to an exclusive design collaboration with the new Snap Flow. Shantell shared her creative journey and how the Snap Flow product bridges analog and digital tools, helping creators capture ideas in the moment. Her design philosophy for the collaboration centered on "FLOW, KNOW, and GROW," aligning perfectly with MOFT’s vision of empowering creators.

The conversation then turned to the challenges faced by content creators today. Brett and Amanda provided an overview of the creator economy, while Tyler Chou offered crucial advice on protecting intellectual property in the age of AI. The panel explored how creators can continue to thrive as technology evolves, driven by audience engagement and insightful discussions.

 


MOFT’s Commitment to Creativity

This philosophy was beautifully embodied in Shantell Martin’s artwork for MOFT, “All the Time,” which captures the essence of motion, play, and personal creativity. Closing Keynote and Live Art Performance

Following a dynamic Q&A session, Brett thanked the panelists and attendees before inviting Julianna back to deliver the closing keynote. Julianna addressed the creator community, highlighting how MOFT is empowering creativity and productivity through innovations designed to help people work and create anywhere. To emphasize the collaboration with Shantell Martin, Julianna premiered a short film titled All The Time, celebrating the partnership.
